Thanks so much to those who were able to watch our recent Melbourne Digital Concert Hall (MDCH) performance. Both we and MDCH have received wonderful feedback from around the world. Special thanks to James Fraser, who directed the video, and to Chris Doherty, who was sound engineer on the project. Excerpts from this concert appear on our next recording (see details below).

We are launching our Marais Project 2021 concert season on 3pm May 16 at Mosman Art Gallery with an event titled ‘The Art of Monody.’ The program includes music by Monteverdi, Marais, early Australian composer, Isaac Nathan, and the world premiere of ‘Christchurch Monody’ by renowned Australian composer, Gordon Kerry. It will be a really varied afternoon! I will send a ticket link soon.

Finally, the release of our ‘Two’ recording is rapidly approaching on April 14. It will be available from MOVE Records, Buywell Music, iTunes, and streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify. You can also pre-order now from our Bandcamp site. If you pre-order you get immediate access to two bonus tracks! https://themaraisproject.bandcamp.com/album/two

Getting a sense of the repertoire on ‘Two’ is easy. Tommie Andersson’s performance of Mozart on the gallichon (bass lute) is available to watch here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1UAvaEzoR0 Or, alternatively, my rendition of Paul Cutlan’s ‘Sarabande’ is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgdS4sPWhtg

Many thanks and have a great week!
