2014 Concerts
Building on our deep foundations in the music of Marais and the French Baroque, in 2014 we are continuing to “re-imagine” the viola da gamba with new works, new collaborations and a new instrument: the electric viola da gamba!
Concert 2 – Collusion
Directed by Jennifer Eriksson, Susie Bishop and Emily-Rose Šárkova
Young performers of the calibre and versatility of Susie Bishop and Emily-Rose Šárkova are a rarity. Classically trained here and in Europe and equally at home across a range of genres including tango, world music and modern folk, they are part of a talented new generation of musicians who are renewing and re-vitalising fine music. This very special musical “collusion” will feature a fabulous arrangement of Marais by Emily-Rose for viol and piano accordion, music by Rodrigo, Cliff Kerr, Handel and Monteverdi with dramatic dialogue from actor Eliska Sarka.
