2008 Concert Series
The venue for our first 2008 concert is Christ Church Lavender Bay (address below) Concerts 2 and 3 take place at The Independent Theatre, 269 Miller St, North Sydney (Opposite North Sydney Oval)
In order to keep the prices for Concerts 2 & 3 affordable for attendees on fixed incomes, we have set aside a limited number of seats at the special concession price of $22. This price is only available for tickets purchased in advance and NOT at the door or via The Independent.
Our 2008 concerts at The Independent will last around 1 hour only and run without an interval. Drinks & coffee are available before and after.

This concert features beautiful yet rarely performed settings from the Old Testament book "The Lamentations of Jeremiah" written for Easter Week by François Couperin; also music by Handel & Bach. We welcome our new keyboardist, Chris Berensen and guest sopranos, Ruth and Nicole.

“Mara! meets Marais”– - directed by Jennifer Eriksson & Mara Kiek”
Tickets $35/22 (+ booking fee). The special concession price of $22 is only available for tickets purchased in advance from The Marais Project, and cannot be obtained at the door.
Aria award-winners Mara! is one of Australia’s finest world music groups, performing in 21 countries. Mara Kiek and Jennifer have long known each other but this is the first concert they have produced together – a very special mix of styles and sounds from ethnic to medieval and baroque.
Mara Kiek’s vocal repertoire includes music drawn from the Sephardic tradition, and medieval songs from France, Italy and Spain. Mara! the ensemble consists of Mara Kiek, voice, Llew Kiek, fretted instruments and Steve Elphick, bass. In conjunction with The Marais Project will perform traditional ethnic and (reconstructed) medieval lutes, double bass, and traditional hand and stick drums.
